The Swiss Chalet was built over 100 years ago and is part of the beautiful Ballamoar Castle Estate in the Isle of Man. A beautiful self catering retreat, The Swiss Chalet can accommodate up to 8 guests. Children and pets are very welcome. Ballamoar lies on the Northern plains of the Island, 6 miles from Ramsey and 17 miles from Douglas, the capital. This is a super location for families who enjoy the peace, quietness and tranquility of the countryside. Guests at The Swiss Chalet are welcome to walk in the grounds and woods of Ballamoar Castle and take in some of the extremely rare species of plants and trees - many being over 200 years old. Maybe enjoy watching the bird life including herons.

Close by are the lovely sandy beaches of the Island's Western coast. Twenty minutes away is the historic old city of Peel. Even closer is the extensive Curraghs Wildlife Park - full of exotic animals and birds only 2 miles away is Close Sartfield Nature Reserve and hide. A most peaceful afternoon or evening can be spent here. GOLF COURSES IN ABUNDANCE! Fishing, walking through glens and on beaches. Historic sites and first class museums. Windsurfing, kayaking etc - all can be arranged. Just ask in advance.

Rooms Description

The Swiss Chalet boasts five bedrooms, each spacious and comfortable as you would expect. The master bedroom has a double bed and ample wardrobe space. The other bedrooms comprise of 2 twin bedded rooms and 2 single bedded rooms. All linen and towels are provided and changed each Saturday. The Swiss Chalet's elegant dining room has a traditional walnut dining suite for those special evenings, whilst the large lounge is comfortable furnished with TV, video, open fire and grand piano. The large kitchen is fully equipped with a Rayburn, an electric oven, microwave, fridge and a dining area - ideal for informal meals. All cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are supplied. There is also a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
