Three star Lancashire farmhouse Bed & Breakfast, 20 minutes drive from Lancaster, ideal location for visiting the town or university, lovely rural views.
Located only 20 minutes by car from the centre of Lancaster, Greenbank Farmhouse is ideally situated for visitors to the Town and University and those wishing to venture further afield to explore the Lakes and Dales. Also within our proximity is the Forest Hills fishing & golfing. All our beautifully appointed rooms are en suite and have television, Tea and Coffee making facilities and hair dryers in addition to lovely views over the surrounding countryside. We are open all year round and with Central Heating throughout, you need never fear the cold Lancashire winters (or summers!). Unfortunately we do not accept pets.
We are ideally situated for part time/post graduate students or visiting lecturers to the University but only those with their own transport. We offer a peaceful retreat after a hard days schooling plus wireless internet connection. Greenbank offers 3 en-suite rooms. Catshaw Greave, (name taken from the fell behind), Sparrow Gill, name taken from the stream further up the road) and Damas Gill named for the stream running at the foot of the greenbank. Unfortunately we are unsuitable for travellers without transport as no public transport passes here.
Catshaw Greave is a double room with a panoramic view of the fells behind and has en-suite with shower over bath. Damas Gill is a large room which can be either twin or super king double. Has en-suite with shower over bath and a 'loo with a view' of the fells behind. Sparrow Gill looks over the front garden, can be either twin or super king double and has an en-suite shower room.
We have now added a conservatory with stunning views of the countryside behind the house where we serve breakfast in the warmer months. Having once been dairy farmers it’s hard to leave farm life behind so we have some hens and pet sheep to keep our hands in. Our daughter has added some spice to the mix with 2 North Ronaldsay sheep one of whom is a little too good at escaping. Our pampered poultry supply the breakfast eggs along with home made bread and locally sourced meat.
