The Bower is a stunningly converted 18th century Georgian country house with splendid views in an idyllic country setting. The property has been recently modernised, but retains many original features. The Bower is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which has the best woodland walking in northern England and the most beautiful coastal scenery in the north-west. Leighton Moss RSPB reserve is within walking distance, and we're just ten minutes from junction 35 of the M6. The guest house is a no smoking home. Our location also means easy access to the new superb 'Brief Encounter' Visitors Centre at historic Carnforth Station.
Guests can choose from two comfortable and well-appointed bedrooms, both uniquely decorated. One has a double and a single bed and an en suite bathroom. The other has a double bed and private bathroom. Both have every comfort including colour televisions, clock radios, hair dryers, electric blankets and tea and coffee making facilities. Both bathrooms are spacious and have baths and showers. Guests can relax in our spacious drawing room, which has a period fireplace with log fires on cooler days and is furnished with comfortable soft sofas, antiques, a piano and an enormous cheeseplant. Our charming dining room has French windows opening out onto the garden, and a fine marble fireplace where log fires are lit on chilly evenings. We offer a formal four-course dinner or an informal convivial candle-lit kitchen supper. We are not licensed, but guests are most welcome to bring their own wine.
