Beautiful Cheshire Greenlooms Cottage B&B is surrounded by green fields and offers a quiet countryside retreat just five miles from the Roman walled City of Chester. The guesthouse is non smoking throughout and evening dinner is optional. This historic cottage was once the hedger and ditcher's home on the Duke of Westminster's Eaton Estate, and idyllic Martins Lane is one of those old Cheshire country lanes lined with oaks and damsons. We're the perfect walker base, and The Shropshire Union Canal lies just a short walk away across the fields.

Guests can expect a warm and friendly welcome, and it's easy to find owners Peter and Deborah either in their large kitchen or sitting out in the sun at the front of the house or perhaps elsewhere in the large garden. Meals are served in the kitchen where hot toast, coffee and dishes baked, poached, grilled or fried are brought straight from the Aga cooking range to your table. A safe and dry cycle storage area is available for guests should you be enjoying the many Cheshire cycleways in the area.

Two stunning rooms are available to guests at Greenlooms. Both are self-contained with convenient spacious en-suite bathrooms (full pressure shower and wc/no bath). Rooms also benefit from walk-in clothes closets. Low windows offer views over green fields and passing wild-life such as owls and foxes. Beds are wonderfully comfortable, with crisp clean white cotton sheets. Rooms are located at one end of the property, so guests enjoy privacy and quietness. They have their own front door and their own snug little sitting room. All rooms are fully equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. For guests with mobility issues, our twin rooms conveniently avoid the stairs.

Directions
From Chester, take the A41 (Whitchurch Road) south for 2 miles and turn left at Whitehouse Antiques (If you find the Black Dog Pub on your left you have gone too far South). Follow the road through the village of Waverton and out the other side for 1.5 miles, turn right into Martins Lane, and you will find Greenlooms Cottage on your right, in under a mile and after series of sharp bends.
