Proud to announce that we have recently been awarded 4 STAR status by Quality in Tourism, Miway Bed and Breakfast is a warm and friendly, family run guest house with 3 beautiful en-suite rooms. We're ideally located in the centre of Southport, just off renowned shopping hotspot Lord Street. Miway is also just a few minutes walk from all of Southport's superb attractions including the Promenade, beach and amusement parks. The family are keen golfers so anyone wishing to sample the superb coastal golf courses in the area (including Royal Birkdale, Hillside, Formby Ladies and Formby Hall) will have expert advice on hand.

Miway was built 160 years ago. At that time, the tide came in very close and we have heard that boats were moored almost outside the door!Over the years, things have changed and the sea has receded. However, something new has taken its place. Now the beautiful Marina, only 200 yards away, is home to swans, geese, ducks,gulls and other water birds. Motor boats and rowing boats can be hired and there is a riverboat ferry where you can take a trip around the Marina. Why not have a drink in the "Smallest Pub in Britain" which sits on the edge of the Marina. The Floral Hall complex & Theatre is just 2 minutes walk away. See a show or go ballroom dancing or even go to one of the collectors fairs.In August, there's the Flower Show, while September brings the Air Show. In fact, there's always something going on! Rooms Description

Miway has 3 beautiful double ensuite rooms available. The first "SUNSHINE" has a stunning veranda where guests can sit out with a bottle of wine and enjoy exquisite sea views. There is a TV and tea and coffee making facilities within the room and a hairdryer, iron and ironing board are available on request. This room has been called "5 star" by some thrilled guests and another called it "The Presidential Suite". "MOONLIGHT" is our second largest room. Beautifully decorated, this room also has en suite, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. "STARLIGHT", the smallest of our rooms is lovely and cosy and has TV and tea and coffee making facilities also. This room has en suite toilet and washbasin- the shower is in the main bathroom, a couple of yards away and is for the use of this room alone. Downstairs, the dining room has a fridge which can be used by guests to keep their drinks cool.

Specialities

Breakfast is served between 8-9.00am but earlier times can be arranged if required. We have a guest book full of compliments about our breakfasts! and we are proud to display several "Thank You" cards from happy guests. For the comfort of all guests, we operate a "NO SMOKING" policy throughout the house. Outside, we have a large driveway for up to six cars and double gates which are closed at night. Many guests arrive, park their car on the driveway and only use it again to go home! We are so close to all the attractions, a car is not necessary.
