Windmill Animal Farm in Burscough, Lancashire gives members of the public the opportunity to visit a working farm and discover what it's really like to run a farm, whilst enjoying a fantastic and fun filled day out feeding, touching, playing and observing the animals. Aside from our treasured animals, we also have three great children's play areas, one of the largest indoor play barns here in the North West, and a fantastic new outdoor play area.

We've got plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained, including letting the kids roam free on our pedal tractors, and the opportunity to visit the pet area to play and feed the animals. Every month we also feature an Owl and Birds of Prey Road Show, where you can introduce yourself to a range of birds from owls to hawks. And one of our best and most loved features of Windmill Animal Farm is our fantastic miniature railway running daily from 11am to 4.30pm. With a mile of track, passengers can hop off the train at Lake View to visit our new outdoor play area.

Unique Features

If you'd like to sit back and take time to relax while the kids run around safely on the farm, we have a great coffee shop serving a range of teas and coffees, as well as snacks. We have a large car park so there's plenty of space and we also have disabled facilities. And why not take your memories home and take a visit to our gift shop where you can purchase souvenirs and gifts.

Windmill Animal Farm is a great place to hold children's parties, whether it's for a birthday, school trip or holiday outing we offer educational and guided tours to learn about the animals we keep. Available all year round, parties include entry to the farm and use of all the attractions, plus a special party room with party food and drinks.
