Situated just 2 miles inland from Blackpool seafront and 10 minutes off junction 4 of the M55, Blackpool Zoo is a multi-award winner and home to over 1,500 animals across 400 species. With the highest standards of animal care and an emphasis on conservation, a number of Blackpool Zoo's animals, including two of the Asian elephants, are rescued animals.

Near the Zoo and on the edge of popular Stanley Park sit's Blackpool Model Village and Gardens. Blackpool's Sealife Centre just beyond the Tower along the Promenade is famed for its huge collection of tropical sharks amongst other wonders. The Touchpool display is hands-on and focuses on the marine life around the British Coastline. The story of Blackbeard's sunken ship told by the old ship mate brings added entertainment for children to this display. Another Blackpool Prom unmissible day out is at Louis Tussaud's Waxworks. Hundreds of waxworks models await in themed rooms such as Hollywood, Celeb City, Corrie, Rock Factory and Horrors. The Blackpool Tower and Circus experience is an extravaganza of family fun shows and attractions. Several family treats are here, including the Aquarium which has evolved from its early roots here which predate the tower! Right next to Pleasure Beach, 'Ripley's Believe it Or Not' in Blackpool is one of two in Europe. As the external facade of dinosaur head and rope climber hints at, Ripley's is home to a dazzling array of oddities including 2 headed calf, a fertility statue which is creating quite a stir and a floating tap which appears to have no plumbing.
