South Shore's 'Great Promenade Show': this one's 'Glam Rocks' by Peter Freeman.
South Pier by Night
Umm, pure pleasure at Pleasure Beach?!
Disco Ball : again part of the fabulous 'Great Promenade Show. This area of South Shore was once a bunch of sand dunes believe it or not. Why not start with 'Ripley's Believe It or Not!' - 7 themed galleries with ridiculously unusual findings.
Other indoor attractions for all the family include 'Horror Crypt', go ice skating on Pleasure Beach's own ice skating rink, there's a bowling alley and there's about 20 themed shops all well stocked up with stupid hats, masks and the like. For the tots, check out Beaver Creek which is a whole section of the park dedicated to them, including Pirate Ship ride and the favourite Log Shute. Now for the serious rides, onwards, upwards and round-about - there are no less than 13 roller coasters at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Best to have ya fish and chips afterwards! The most famous, the biggest in Europe, is the Pepsi Max Big One - sheer freefall is perhaps the best description of this. Take a historical trip on the old Grand National. This was Europe's first twin track rollercoaster built in 1935. It's noisy and made of wood! You can loop 360¡ on the Irn-Bru Revolution, or bobsleigh down the high-speed Avalanche and how about being catapulted 210ft into the air on the Ice Blast, then being dropped down freefall. Good luck!
There's ample eateries all over Pleasure Beach, plus fill your evenings with 'camp as Christmas shows by risque cabaret group 'Mystique', or for theatrical fantasy with lots of acrobatics check out 'Eclipse'. Check out the website for full details on ticket prices, all day passes and more. Blackpool Pleasure Beach will also open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8th November - 14th December from 11am to 5pm (weather conditions conducive) - not all the rides will be open though - check the website for details. FREE PARKING is available on South Car Park adjacent to the Big Blue Hotel which is a bonus on cost.

This attraction really is fabulous - guaranteed to totally and utterly wear out those kids. It's three acres of water world fun with slides for the adventurous and gentle pools for the tots. There's also a crazy golf putt inside for a break from the water for a bit and there's a sauna and poolside cafe - and it's water fun all year round, fabulous. Check out the great new look website for ride details, opening times and costs.

A shorter and wider pier, this was the last of the three to be built and opened in 1893 and was originally known as Victoria Pier (shouldn't think there were many thoughts of Queen Victoria on holiday in Blackpool!). There's no theatre on this pier any more, just rides, rides, rides as befits the South Shore theme. They're great old favourite rides as well, with a real funfair atmosphere, including dodgems, a Crazy Mouse and a Waltzer.
The emphasis is on family entertainment - so the Laughing Donkey Bar welcomes families and has day-long entertainment and music for all the family to enjoy. Check out the details on 'Laughing Donkey', commonly known as Mr Carrots, originally from Doncaster?! Take the tots on South Shore Pier, they'll love it!
An accessible, fascinating and free series of public artwork is at your fingertips on Blackpool's South Shore. Pick a favourite - Disco Ball, magic particularly by night, Glam Rocks - very Blackpool sweetie, and 'Desire' by Chris Knight. It's simply the best public art in the country and so it should be in Blackpool.
