Chester Zoo

Check out Chester Zoo's fabulous website to plan you visit - it's a mammoth attraction and a zoo which is famous for it's large enclosures and landscaped gardens. The collection of animals here at Chester is one of the largest in the country with over 7000 animals.

There's also a children's fun ark on site and this zoo is excellent on access, with ample disabled and parent and baby toilet facilities and access around the zoo is excellent.

Cheshire Military Museum, Chester

This museum is housed in the part of the Chester Castle which served as accommodation for soldiers in the 19th century. It pays special attention to the history of Cheshire regiments, and works hard to integrate gender and the stories of women who served into it's exhibitions, which dare I say it is somewhat unusual for a military museum!
